General Surgeon Mineola | Dr. Michael Khalife As one of the leading general surgeons in the tri-state area, Dr. Michael Khalife has performed thousands of surgeries over the past 23 years. His extensive experiences with laparoscopic surgery, breast surgery and minimally invasive techniques have made Dr. Khalife and Nassau Surgical Associates a top choice for patients needing surgery.

Dr. Khalife was born in Beirut, Lebanon, where he received his medical degree from Faculté Française de Médecine and the French government awarded him with a Diplome D'état Française in medicine. He completed his clerkship at the Catholic Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, and his internship and residency at SUNY Stony Brook. He then went on to complete a general surgery residency program as chief resident in 1984. Continuing his education, he furthered his surgical expertise by completing numerous specialized surgical training courses at various centers both in the U.S. and abroad.

As an assistant professor of clinical surgery at Stony Brook School of Medicine, Dr. Khalife is actively involved in teaching both medical students and residents in the area of surgery. Dr. Khalife has also presented his work at many national and international surgical meetings. He has been published in numerous peer-reviewed scientific journals, including the Journal of Academie deChirugie, Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery and the Journal of Diseases of the Colon & Rectum.
